First of all, Happy Saint Patricks Day!!
Ok, so if you are like me you are going to look at this and say, "Gross!!" But I kept seeing potato chips put into chocolate on Food Network. So I had to try them. And surprisingly, they are really good! I didn't do anything special, just melted some chocolate chips and dipped the potato chips in it. I saw on a show I was watching that you should use ribbed potato chips because they hold just the right amount of chocolate, so that's what I did. And they were perfect. I can't really describe the flavor, because it's different from really anything I've ever had. So if your curious like me your just gonna have to try them.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces melted chocolate
- about 30 ribbed potato chips
Directions
Sort through your potato chips and pick out the ones that are mostly in one piece and relatively round. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Then boil some water in a medium saucepan and place a heat proof bowl over it. Place your chocolate in the bowl and heat it until it reaches 115 degrees. Then take it off the heat.
Take your chips and dip them into the chocolate. The chocolate really isn't hot enough to burn you, so I just used my fingers, but if you have a pare of tongs, you can use those too. Place chocolate covered chips in the fridge and allow the chocolate to harden, then serve.
O___o
ReplyDeleteChocolate potato chips ?
That looks like a very healthy snack !
Would it work with the sour cream and onion ones ? :P
Not sure I would like to try that.
A French fan of your blog.
LoL! No, don't use sour cream and onion. I tried it cause I kept seeing them on FoodNetwork. It's a cooking channel here in the states and after like the 20th time seeing these on that channel it finally got my curiosity peaked. They actually weren't bad. Not great, but not bad. They kind of tasted like a Kit-Kat candy bar. Not sure if you have those in France either. But I'm the type where I hate being curious about something and not figure it out. My hubby says that I'm way to curious, but yeah. They were interesting I'll leave it at that.
