Food Snots
or
Savory Sweetness
I keep going back and forth whether I even want to put this out there, but I need everyones help. It's been a year since I started my blog and I've loved every moment of it!! But over the past year I've had a couple people express distaste for my blog name. Usually I would just dismiss this and completely ignore it, but it has got me thinking. Should I change my blog name??
On the one hand, I love my blog name. It's unique, and corky, and good or bad it leaves an impression. Which is kind of how I view myself, so in a lot of ways it fits me. But at the same time I'm afraid that a bunch of people might not get the American slang behind my use of the word "Snots" and think booger instead of someone with high expectations.
I keep trying to make a decision, but I'm completely indecisive regarding the matter. I see both pros and cons in both names. So, since the opinion of my followers means so much to me, I've decided to leave it up to a vote. Should I stick with the name Food Snots or do I change my blog to Savory Sweetness? So, if you have a second please leave a comment letting me know what you think. Even if it's to say, "I really don't think it matters." I just want to know what you all think.
Thanks!!!
(I have not yet secured the new domain name, so if you are looking to create a blog please don't steal it)

In my experience, "snob" is perhaps more to the point that "snots," although I was raised in NC where plenty of folks called kids "little snots" when they were being obnoxious! ;) I say be true to yourself and remember that your blog name is the biggest part of your branding. And you are playing to a global audience, whether or not you realize it. Maybe "Little Food Snots" or something else that would connote snobbery in a cute way, like "Foodielitist" (Which I just made up this very second)! Good luck; I'm sure that you will come up with something that speaks to who you are and also invites folks to come in and stay awhile, not grab for a tissue! ;)
Ok, so never comment on any blog, but felt compelled to say I like Food Snots!! Savory sweetness doesn't really differentiate you.....I do like the commenter above who invented foodielitist. Thanks for all the great inspiration!! I'll still be lurking here no matter which one you go with!
I like Food Snots too! It's fun and quirky and weeds out the people who have nothing better to do than troll the web complaining about other people's decisions!
Don't cave in! Savory sweetness has much less personality and individualism. To heck with the blog title snots! :O)
Definitely Foodsnots!..really sets your blog title and attracted me to view your recipes...which are incredible!!!
LoL!! Love it!!!
Food Snots for sure !!!
Love it ..It's different and unique and like you said it's you!
Savory sweetness..Not nearly as fun and sure does not grab your attention like Food Snots!
Let someone read your blog to find out what your all about because I'm sure when they read the name they have to click on and find out who your are!
Keep it:))
I'm a subscriber, LOVE your recipes & your fun writing, but since you've asked... I cringe every time I see your blog name. Even your banner is perplexing. There's the beautiful pic of cherries & cheesecake, covered up by the word snots. And when I think of "high expectations" in American slang I think of the word snobs not snot. I'll be a subscriber regardless, pin your delectable recipes, rave about your concoctions, and tell me friends what a fun blog you host, but I secretly hope the name is changed.
You should stick with what you like. That is what drew me to your blog was your name and then not to mention the delicious treats you create and bake. Keep it I say.
I like what you have! I get a kick out of readers who go to a blog and then get all crabby about this 'n that. It's not like they've paid a subscription fee or signed a 'reading contract' with you. Do what you wish (I'm here, no matter what!), but I agree with another comment that Savory Sweetness does not 'stand out' nearly as much as the unique title you have. I guess "...Snob" would work-- it's smilar. Wishing you the best.
Was it Abraham Lincoln who said "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time."? Change the 'fool' word to 'PLEASE' and there's my true opinion.

I prefer Savory Sweetness....Food Snots is just so negative to me (sorry)!!!
INHO ... I really don't think it's anyones opinion, it's your blog. I get your blog daily and look forward to seeing the "Snots" in my box. If people are offended by it, don't read the title, pretend it says something else. I don't read your blog because of the name, but I for one, LOVE it and get it! It's you why change?
I totally had to look up what INHO meant. LOL!! This is something my sister would say though. I'm actually surprised she hasn't called me to yell at me about this post. But this made me laugh. Thanks for commenting!!
I think Food Snots is a great name, but I'm going to follow you regardless of whatever you call your blog. Good luck :)

I, too, grew up being called a "Little Snot", so that's what I thought of when I first saw the name of your blog. It doesn't draw me or drive me away. It's your blog, your choice of name. The other suggestion is a bit bland and I'm more apt to forget about it.
I LOVE Food Snots!! Those who matter won't care..those who care, don't matter! For what my opinion's worth I say keep it..own it, and be proud of it!
I named my blog, "Oh, bite it" partially because it's a food blog & partially because that's what I say to anyone who has nothing better to do than bring negativity to others..LOL! ;) Bottom line..do what YOU like!
At first I didn't love the name, but now I love it as much as the blog itself. Stay true to what describes you. I think its unique, and isn't that a good thing?
I think the name is fun and you have made a name for yourself. I say leave it!!
I have to admit, at first I was a little put off, but it has definitely grown on me. I say keep it!!
I'm a new reader and I kept thinking of nose Snot :( I just didn't understand until I came to this post and explained that it was "little snot" type of snot.
I will most likely follow you regardless, but I almost left before I saw the great blog you DO have! Maybe Food Snob would be better...
It's your blog, so go with it! or maybe just have a little quote saying something about little snots as a kid or something.
ha ha... nough said and I love your blog!
I have recently found your site and am enjoying it :) I have like recipe snob on pinterest! Which I am new to as well. My email is cblazavich@aol.com and would like to be entered in your drawings.
